True Blue

It is said that Flax is the only seed which can produce
a TRUE BLUE, because all other blues are actually shades of purple. This is
the information my mother left me in her ancient science book from high school
in the 1920's. This flax is not the same, quite, as New Zealand Flax which was
important to the Maori economy. These of course were ancient native peoples.
Some of the more knowledgeable New Zealanders can get me up to speed on them
surely. If I read it correctly, Maoris were to New Zealand as Native American
Indians were to this part of the North American Continent, which may be why
flax is a part of the Rainbow Tribe's herbal cookbook. The tribe is "into" all
things indigenous. I heard of flax being good for the intestines...us old hippies will eat anything, so I bought some and tried to sprout it. No good. So I went with wheat berries instead. Well anyway who woulda' thunk that they make nice flowers as well. Unlike the nastersium, one can eat too many flax parts. Sickness will occur. I know....... No waxing poetic with this picture. How can anyone be more sublime nor real than a flower which is the real deal. True Blue.... |
