One mans weed is another photographers dreamscape. Because photography is not a science and because photography is subjective in it's epitome of the word.....this weed actually looks beautiful in picture macro...so I called over a friend, whose background is in theater and Hollywood, yet belongs to the Society for Creative Anachronism. In that he teaches choreography to young folks in the movie industry. Co-incidentally he happens to understand gardens and flowers and all such flora...He took a look at the colored area I was taking a picture of. I asked him what it was. He said quite frankly, "It's a weed." And I asked, "If it's a weed, then why are you letting it grow in your cultivated garden?". He said after much thought..."Because it is a cultivated weed.". "There is no such thing as a cultivated weed.". I said. "Oh....there isn't eh? Well give me a minute.", he said. And then he got on the phone...cell type...and called someone...I do not know who...and he explained where he was at...and the question I was asking...and he listened for what seemed like 5 minutes...saying "Yes...I see..." every so often. He hung up and looked hard at me and said with finality..."It's a weed." It's a weed..... Bob |
