Mary Ann ALLISON [Parents] was born 1808 in Washington County, PA. She died 17 Apr 1878 in Jay County Indiana and was buried in Jay County, Indiana. Mary married Abraham WALTON on 1836 in Beaver County, PA.

Edward and Ann (Mills) Bond, was born in Guilford County, N. C., Nov. 23, 1781; married Oct. 10,
1805, in Grayson County, Va.; Ruth Coffin, born 1781, daughter of Libini and Hephzibah
(Starbuck) Coffin, and Libini Coffin was the son of William and Priscilla (Paddock) Coffin, and
William Coffin was the son of William, Sr. Priscilla Paddock was daughter of Nathaniel and Ann
Paddock. This is as far as the lineage has been obtained. After his marriage Joshua Bond lived a
few years in Grayson County, Va., where he built a saw mill, which he operated in addition to his
farming. In 1811 he moved to Indiana, first settling near Middleboro, in Wayne County. As I have in
my possession a copy of a biography written by himself I will here let him tell the story of his life.
He left quite a number of manuscripts on various subjects; some about the division and
dissensions among the Society of Friends, one about the hardships and afflictions that he and his
family had passed through. I will only here publish the one paper, his history, which I try to
reproduce in his own language. His first wife, who was the mother of his children, died Nov. 23,
1847. His second wife was Mary Walton, widow of his cousin, Abraham Walton. Her maiden
name was Allison; she died April 17, 1877. Joshua Bond died Sept. 11, 1876, aged nearly 95
years.

John Milton Votaw left Elvira (a) sometime between Sept 1868 and 1874. Hewent to Missouri. He returned to Penn, Jay County in 1923 and dies undermysterious circumstances.

Joshua lived in Virginia with his wife until in 1811 he moved to IndianaTerritory. He set up a sawmill and became an influencial Quaker of thattime in what was Wayne County. He remained there until 1835 when hedivested and moved to Jay County. In 1836 he set up a grist mill. It wasteh first in the area and much celebrating was done. He was a leadingQuaker in Pennville and many meetings were held at his home.

Your query on the Sherman Co, ORE GenWeb page ask about ElviraJohnson.

There is a Elvira Johnson buried in the Wasco Methodist Cemetery atWasco Ore, but the head stone dates are 10 Dec 1813 to 29 Sep 1891 andindications are she was born in Kentucky.

HOWEVER, a lady has been going through old Sherman Co newspapers andrecording death information. The 14 September 1906 issue of THESHERMAN CO OBSERVER contains:

"Mrs Nina Hennagin came up Sunday to be at the bedside of Mrs Johnson,whose death, quite sudden, occurred on the 2d, at the home of her son,Wilbur Regester, aged 66 years. The remains were taken to Hood Riverfor interment."

The 7 September 1906 issue of the GRASS VALLEY JOURNAL had the followingitem:

"Mrs. Johnson, who lived in the vicinity of Kent, died on Sunday,September 2nd, 1906. She was taken and died very suddenly. Theremains were taken to Hood River on Mondays train and the funeral washeld Tuesday."
